3D Typography in the landscape and interior.

Catherine Griffiths designer of the 3d typography landscape Wellington Writers Walk done in 2002 and 2004. This very iconic wellington sculpture is 15 large-scale, three dimensional concrete text sculptures honouring writers and poets who have strong connections with Wellington, sited unexpectedly along the city╩╝s urban waterfront – floating, suspended, wedged in, lying on rocks as if washed up by the sea.

Another cool spatial typography piece by Graphic Designer Lou Dorfsman CBS’s cafeteria piece called “Gastrotypographicalassemblage”. The assemblage (35 feet-wide x 8 1/2 feet-tall) using a variety of hand-milled wood typefaces listed all of the food that the dining hall offered. The installation was completed by 1966 with the help from graphic design legend and friend Herb Lubalin, along with Tom Carnese whom skillfully crafted the typography.
